Personally, I have always had a special attitude towards the
Philippine Islands and the Filipino people. After all, it was a United
States territory from 1898 to1946 until the Filipino people achieved
their independence. It is a land where American and Filipino people
fought and died together during WWII. Throughout the decades, we
have been closely aligned people with many shared values and
traditions. And many of us have Filipino Americans within our families and/or circle of close friends. And speaking for myself, as I have been around the world, I have always admired the underlining qualities of the Filipino people; honesty, kindness, and strong work ethic (just to name a few). 

 

So…for my first ever visit to the Philippine Islands…I wanted to do

something special.

For this trip we have partnered with the Atlantis Philippines Resort to
bring you an incredibly special adventure. Now…there is world-class
diving all around the Philippine’s but to truly experience the best they
have to offer; you have to be on a live-aboard. But as much as I love
the live-aboard experience I did not want to be confined to a yacht for
the duration of my first visit there. I wanted the opportunity to get out
in their communities to meet people and to see for myself their way of
life and culture. That is what makes Atlantis Philippine’s so special
and perfect. Not only do they offer two individual resorts in the north
and the south, but they also operate the Atlantis Azores liveaboard
dive yacht.

Upon arrival in Manila, we will take a domestic flight south to the
Atlantis Resort in Dumaguete. We will spend 5 days/4 nights here.
Here we can unwind from our long journey and basically do whatever
you would like to do. The beachfront resort is beautiful. And the dive

During our stay at the resort, we will have the option to do a special
all-day dive day at the world-famous Apo Island. Apo is an amazing
destination, the longest lasting community led marine protected area,
with over three hundred species of coral and fish! It is about a 45-
minute boat ride on an outrigger Bangkah boat. We will do two dives,
have a BBQ lunch on the boat followed by a third dive. We will then
head back to the resort for either a night dive or Mandarin Fish sunset
dive.

After our stay at the resort, we will board the Atlantis Azores for a
special 10 day/9-night itinerary of the Malapascua & Cebu region
within The Visayan Sea. My goodness…check out this itinerary!! (that
is right…Whale Sharks and Thresher Sharks!!)

•  Day 1: EMBARKATION 5pm AT ATLANTIS DUMAGUETE 

• Day 2: OSLOB AND SUMILON (whale sharks and reef) 

• Day 3: MOALBOAL AND PESCADOR ISLAND (sardines and incredible rock formation)

• DAY 4 & 5: GATO ISLAND, MONAD SHOAL & MALAPASCUA (Threshers and white tips, incredible caverns, and rock formation) 

• DAY 6: MONAD SHOAL & CALANGGAMAN ISLAND OR CABILAO (amazing walls and rock formation)

• DAY 7: BALICASAG (marine reserve with excellent wall, macro, and fish life)

• DAY 8: PANGLAO (half day land tour option to visit Chocolate Hills, Tarsier, ButterflyFarm and Cave at additional cost)

• DAY 9: APO ISLAND OR SIQUIJOR (both walls with excellent corals)

• DAY 10: DISEMBARKATION 8AM at Dumaguete resort
