Scuba divers describe the PADI Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they’ve ever taken. Why? Because you learn to prevent and manage problems in and out of the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed.

 

Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During our realistic rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills.

 

COURSE DETAILS

The PADI Rescue Diver course is divided into 3 segments: Knowledge Development, Confined Water Pool training & Open Water Rescue Scenarios. The knowledge development phase is covered in the PADI Rescue Diver eLearning program. You work at home, at your own pace, with this convenient, interactive study program.

 

The confined water pool training is conducted over a 4 hour period during one of our Friday evening pool sessions. The open water rescue scenarios are conducted at a convenient local dive site typically on the Saturday following the Friday pool session.

 

COURSE CONTENT

• Self-rescue

• Recognizing and managing stress in other divers - Emergency management and equipment

• Rescuing panicked divers

• Rescuing unresponsive divers

 

PREREQUISITES

• Be at least 12 years old

• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or PADI Adventure Diver certification with the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive 

• EFR Primary & Secondary Care training within the last 24 months (or from another accredited CPR training organization)

• Good physical health & adequate swimming skills are a must

 

ADD-ONS

• Emergency First Responder (EFR) Primary & Secondary Care certification: $139.

  • This class must be completed prior to the start of your PADI Rescue Diver course.

• Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty

  • Diving with enriched air nitrox lets you safely extend your no-stop limits beyond the no-stop limits for regular air.

  • More dive time.

  • Feel less fatigued when diving with enriched air.

  • Applied toward Master Scuba Diver certification.

  • Receive a $25 discount on the tuition of the Enriched Air Nitrox course.

Course Tuition: $359+ Tax

Tuition includes all instruction by one of our PADI Certified Instructors, access to the PADI Rescue Diver eLearning program, use of all air tanks needed during class, all diving fees & certification card upon completion of the course.

 

*Use of rental gear (regulator, BCD, dive computer & wetsuit) is not included but is available at standard rental rates.
