The diving around the island is also very special. Because of the nature of the island, most of the dive sites are very close to shore. Most boat rides are only 5-10 minutes away. The waters around the island attract a wonderful concentration of marine life. This is because of the nutrients flowing into the water all along the islands edge. Coupled with the local’s initiative-taking conservation efforts, we are all rewarded with abundant marine life and beautiful soft & hard corals.

And not only is the diving gorgeous but the island itself is a virtual outdoor playground. My goodness…just think about the views. Personally, I cannot wait to hike up to the top of a hill and just enjoy the moment. But there is just so much to explore. The Sulphur Springs, Diamond Waterfall, and rain forest. Not to mention the birds and flowers. A true natural paradise.

For this adventure, we have partnered with the truly astonishing Anse Chastanet Resort. Consistently rated as one of the Caribbeans best resorts, we are sure to be treated to a wonderful & relaxful dive vacation. The resort sits on six hundred acres, bordering two soft sand beaches of oceanfront beauty and splendor. This all-inclusive resort is sure to please. Between the unique (and somewhat eclectic) hillside accommodations, the many dining options (they even operate their own farm), onsite dive center, manicured beaches, and house reef, we are sure to have a grand time.

Regarding the accommodations, we have booked six of their Superior Hillside rooms and five of their Deluxe Beachside rooms (max group size of 22 people). Please be aware that the hillside rooms are built on the hillside. Because of that, you will have to walk up and down manicured flower lined paths (or take a golf cart shuttle). Also…the hillside rooms do not have air conditioning. The rooms are built in an octagonal shape to take advantage of the ever-present refreshing trade winds. And I have been assured by the owner of the resort that this has never been an issue regarding guests being uncomfortable. The Deluxe Beachside rooms will eliminate the need to walk up and down the hill. They are also air conditioned because they are tucked behind the beach and in the trees, so the trade winds are not as prevalent there.
